STANDARD HIGH SCHOOL AND KAHOKYA PRIMARY SCHOOL EMERGE WINNERS OF TOURISM SCHOOLS ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMME!

"We are thrilled to see the enthusiasm and creativity of the students in promoting tourism and conservation," said Benjamin Ojelel Etubi, Project Manager of WWF Rwenzori Region. "This is a great way to engage the younger generation in taking care of our heritage and promoting sustainable tourism."

The Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities held a schools' engagement program in Kasese today 25th September 2024, which was won by Standard High School and Kahokya Primary School. The program aimed to promote tourism and conservation among students and was a huge success. The competition consisted of three activities: poetry, dance, and quiz, and over 10 schools participated.

"We are proud to see the students taking an active role in promoting tourism and conservation," said Mr. Monday Bwambale Girivazio, Kasese LC Vice Chairperson. "This is a great way to ensure that our heritage is preserved for future generations."

The event was held in preparation for World Tourism Day, which will be celebrated on September 27, 2024. The Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities has pledged to continue supporting such events to promote tourism and conservation in the country.

"We are grateful to the Ministry of Tourism for choosing Kasese to host World Tourism Day," said Bariyo Robert, Head Teacher of Standard High School. "We urge the public to prioritize peace promotion to have a good number of tourists."

The program was organized with the support of the World Wide Fund and aimed to promote tourism and conservation among students. The competition was fierce, but in the end, Standard High School and Kahokya Primary School emerged victorious.

"We are thrilled to have won this competition," said a student from Standard High School. "We worked hard and are proud of our achievement."

The winners were awarded certificates and prizes, and the event was attended by various stakeholders, including the officers from Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities, the World Wide Fund, and the Kasese District Local Government.
