STREET LIGHT SCHOLAR: A Beacon of Hope in Kasese's Educational Landscape

Kasese, Uganda - In a heartwarming yet disturbing scene, a young girl was yesterday ( 17th September 2024) spotted revising her books under the faint glow of a street light near Nyakasanga SDA Church in Kasese town, highlighting her love for education.

"I was touched by her dedication to education," said Jonan Mumbere, a Local Journalist who encountered the girl. "She's an inspiration to us all."

The unidentified girl, whose story will be documented this weekend, has already captured the attention of several well-wishers eager to support her academic pursuits.

"Her love for education is contagious," Mumbere noted. "We must ensure she receives the support she deserves."

As the community rallies around this young scholar, her determination serves as a beacon of hope for a brighter future.

Bernard Cheptoch and Rachel Chebet Zena are the Champions for the 4th Edition of Tusker Lite Rwenzori Marathon.

It was attended by runners from 35 countries, highlighting how the Marathon is international. Hon. Gladys Boos, the Deputy Speaker of the Kenya National Assembly, blessed the marathon, explaining that the marathon shouldn't be used just for running but be considered as a gem that Uganda currently has. Kasese Catholic Diocese Permitted to Run Mt. St. Mary’s College of Health Sciences.

Government of Uganda through the Ministry of Health has accredited Kasese Catholic Diocese to run Mt. St. Mary’s College of Health Sciences in a move to improve healthcare in the country. The institution that will run under Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital is meant to produce health workers who are God fearing and dedicated to their services. Mr. Joseph Kule Nzukwa, the Chairperson for the Governing Council for the institution explain that the government positively responded to their application for running a college at the diocesan headquarters.
