Community Warned to Be Vigilant During Festive Season
Mpondwe Lhubiriha Town Council, Kasese Municipality - As the festive season approaches, local leaders are urging the community to be cautious of conmen and theft. Katero Cell Local Council Chairperson, Kule Neriko, has warned residents to be vigilant and take control in preventing such incidents, especially during Christmas.
This warning comes after Rwenzori East Police Spokesperson, SP Nelson Tumushime, advised locals to tighten security measures due to suspicions of an increase in theft during festivals. Neriko emphasizes the importance of community vigilance in preventing criminal activities during festive seasons.
In a related development, Safari Martin, Chairperson Local Council three for Central Division in Kasese Municipality, has urged mobile money agents to be vigilant during this period, as thieves often target them. Martin also advises shop owners to have energetic and capable security guards at their workplaces.
The community is encouraged to be mindful and look out for one another to ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration for all. Landlords at the border are also advised to report new visitors in their houses.
By taking these precautions, the community can help prevent criminal activities and make the festive season a joyful and peaceful one
Ends.
