Gulu City Marathon Team Pays Courtesy Visit to Uganda Baati After Successful Event

The Gulu City Marathon team, led by Francis Gimara, today ( April, 16th, 2026 ) paid a courtesy visit to Uganda Baati in appreciation of their support towards the recently concluded marathon. During the visit, the team delivered a certificate of appreciation to Uganda Baati and shared an impact report highlighting the success of the event. The report reflected on key achievements and the overall growth of the marathon. One of the major highlights was the overwhelming participation, with the event attracting more runners than the initially planned 1,000 participants. Competitors took part in the 5km, 10km, 21km, and 42km race categories. Kasese Hosted Green Skills Bootcamp for Youth

Girls for Climate Action, based in Jinja and supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), was in Kasese where it conducted a Green Skills for Youth Bootcamp in partnership with Young Environmental Human Rights Defenders. The training brought together youth from different parts of the district to explore climate science and green business opportunities. The initiative aimed to help participants identify resources within their communities that could be transformed into sustainable income and meaningful livelihoods. The bootcamp also created a platform for young people to listen, learn, and connect with fellow youth and trainers. Participants were given the opportunity to share their backgrounds, challenges, and expectations from the training.
