Runners In Kasese District ask Leaders to Invest in athletics.

 In the recently concluded Tusker Lite Rwenzori Marathon, the host were challenged to win because of poor preparations.

Therefore, athletes in Kasese District observed a need for the District Leadership to facilitate their trainings so that they can gain momentum of competing with the international runners in next Editions of Tusker Lite Rwenzori Marathon.

Eva Masika, a resident of Base camp Lower Cell in Kasese Municipality who competed a 42KM category obtained the 9th position, says she still lacks enough training to enable her challenge their fellow runners from other districts and countries.

"My intention is to become an international runner and make running as a business os that to eradicate poverty from my family and promote my talent." Eva Masika say

Mr. Godfrey Sunday, a Sports Analyst & the Vice Patron for Kasese Municipal Sports Association reveals that there's an improvement in sports of Kasese.

"We appeal to the leaders and other well-wishers to always come onboard and assist our runners procure wears and other equipment that they are still lacking. We managed to register a number of runners because support from Kithulha Care Initiative."

One of the Sponsors and Patron of Kasese Municipal Sports Association, Mr. Francis Mugisa Kithulha, hail 21 runners from Kasese Municipality for their Participation.

"I thank you for your commitment, dedication and discipline you portrayed during the marathon. I encouraged you never to lose hope but instead aim higher for the next year’s edition" - Kithulha says

In an evaluation session that was held at Uhuru 50 Gardens in Kasese town on Monday ( 27/08/2024), Kithulha urge residents of Kasese Municipality to engage themselves in the production of goods and services in order to enhance their socio-economic livelihoods.

" During the recent Marathon, a larger population in Kasese town earned money because their lodges and hotels owners got money from runners who came to the area" Kithulha adds.

It's believed that the best six Kasese Local Participants of the Tusker Lite Rwenzori Marathon awarded prizes from Kasese Tourism Investors Forum a means of motivation.

Kasese Mourns : Senior Four Candidate Dies at Bwera SS

The deceased is identified as Nabasire Sulaina Index Number U0436/200 has been studying at Bwera Secondary School.  She passed away suddenly last night. The student, had sat for two UNEB papers exams just yesterday, was rushed to Bwera Hospital after experiencing terminal agitation but unfortunately died upon arrival.
