Bobi Wine Demands Evidence from Museveni on Election Rigging Claims : Time for Truth
A potentially explosive showdown is brewing in Uganda's electoral landscape as Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu, aka Bobi Wine, President of the National Unity Platform (NUP), accepts General Yoweri Museveni's challenge to take him to court over election rigging claims.
Last week, Museveni alleged that NUP rigged the last election by one million votes. Bobi Wine has now written to Museveni, accepting the challenge and demanding that he waives his immunity in writing to face the courts.
Furthermore, Bobi Wine has thrown down the gauntlet, challenging Museveni to an independent, transparent election audit presided over by an international agency.
This development comes after Museveni's controversial claims of election rigging, which many see as an attempt to deflect attention from his own alleged involvement in electoral malpractices.
The move by Bobi Wine is seen as a significant step towards seeking justice and transparency in Uganda's electoral process.
