Kasese To Host Uganda's World Tourism Day Celebrations - Government say

The State Minister of Tourism, Wildlife is Antiquities Hon. Bahinduka Mugarra Martin has today (10th September 2024) launched a move to celebrate World Tourism Day. The launch was held at Fairway Hotel in Kampla.

"We thank Kasese Tourism Investors Forum for their efforts in mobilizing communities and leaders to love tourism in Rwenzori Region. I join them to rally the whole country to join us in the celebration which is slated on 27th September 2024". Hon Mugarra say

He say that Uganda is a beautiful country to visit because of its many tourism sites.

" I have never seen a beautiful country like Uganda because i have traveled to many countries. We are privileged that Kasese is being visited where 96,000 visitors have so far visited the area, and our target is to make a million at the end of the year." Hon add Mugarra

Bebe Cool a Uganda's famous musician who is expected to attend the tourism day, call for patriotism and mindset change among Ugandans.

" I call upon young people to travel and love their country. People of Kasese hospitable, I lived there at the age of 12 and finished three years enjoying a loving community" Bebe Cool say

Bebe Cool ask government to allocated a good budget for the Ministry of Tourism  since its a vehicle to get the country more money.

Kasese District Chief Administrative Officer, Mr Elias Byamungu assure security for the visitors who will in Kasese. He add that the President of the Republic of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is expected to be guest of honor at World Tourism Day 

Mr. Elias explain that the day shall function shall held at Nyakasanga Play Ground and a number of activities shall be done including visiting major tourism sites in Kasese 

Mr. Byamungu request visitors not to fear disasters in the area saying the concerned officers are working on challenge .

" There's constant monitoring of the disasters. People shouldn't fear to come, the district disaster committee is ready and capable to handle any disaster magnitude." Byamungu assure

Alexander Kiiza the Chief Executive Officer of Kasese Tourism Investors Forum say that hotels and lodges in the area are ready to host visitors in beautiful Kasese. He encourage residents to also participate in community tourism . 

" There's an improvement in our hospitality sector as a district. We welcome all visitors to come and see the beauty of our Rwenzori " Alexander say.

Recently Kasese District was blessed with Two Tourism events. They include the Tusker Lite Rwenzori Marathon and Rwenzori Theluji Festival where Obusingwa Bwa Rwenzori thanked and pledged to support because these events are bringing money and promoting unity in Kasese and country as a whole.

Kasese Mourns : Senior Four Candidate Dies at Bwera SS

The deceased is identified as Nabasire Sulaina Index Number U0436/200 has been studying at Bwera Secondary School.  She passed away suddenly last night. The student, had sat for two UNEB papers exams just yesterday, was rushed to Bwera Hospital after experiencing terminal agitation but unfortunately died upon arrival.
