"Power Play: Kasese District Chairperson Fires Top Executives in Surprise Move"
In a shocking turn of events, Kasese District Chairperson Mr. Muhindi Bukombi Eliphazi has sacked two senior members of his executive team, including his Vice Chairperson, sparking a major shake-up in the district's leadership.
"I have the mandate to make changes whenever I want," Chairperson Eliphazi declared while addressing the council at Kasese Youth Polytechnic, citing Section 18 of the Local Government Act, which empowers him to appoint secretaries of committees.

The axed officials include Vice Chairperson Mr. Ham Natwehwera, who also served as Secretary for Marketing and Production, and Hon. Robert Kisunzu, Secretary for Works and Technical Services. They have been replaced by Hon. Bethy Kyomia and Hon. Karim Baluku, respectively.
Hon. Charles Kaliba, District Councilor representing Karambi Sub-County, backed the Chairperson's decision, saying, "The new appointees qualify for their positions."
Hon. Karim Baluku, the newly appointed Secretary for Works and Technical Services, expressed gratitude to the Chairperson, promising to work collaboratively to ensure effective service delivery. "I thank the Chairperson for entrusting me with this office, and I pledge to work hand in hand with everyone to deliver results," he said.
