Vandalism Epidemic Hits Rwenzori: Kyakere Carnival Banners Targeted in Sinister Attacks
In a disturbing trend, Kyakere Carnival banners are being systematically vandalized in Kasese and Bunyakabu District, leaving organizers and police baffled as to why only these banners are being targeted.
As the highly-anticipated 'Kyakere Carnival' approaches on October 18th, Talu Audio is working tirelessly to prepare OBR subjects for their Coronation Anniversary celebration at Trans Africa in Kasese Town. The event promises to be an unforgettable experience, featuring live performances by talented OBR musicians.
However, the promotional banners for the event are being stolen and destroyed by unknown individuals, prompting a police investigation. Rwenzori East CLO, Sp. Luka Mbusa, confirms that the organizers have been cleared of any wrongdoing and that the focus is now on identifying those responsible for the vandalism.
"We are urging the public to refrain from such destructive behavior, as it not only harms the event but also undermines community spirit," Mbusa warns, adding that those caught will face legal consequences.
Kyakere Carnival spokesperson, Mr. Waridi Nelly aka Mako the senior, expresses his deep concern over the targeted vandalism, suggesting that unknown individuals may be sponsoring the malicious acts. "It's disheartening to see our banners being singled out for destruction, while others in the same area remain untouched," he laments.
"The police investigation is ongoing, and the community is urged to report any information that may lead to the perpetrators."
