Kasese Cry : Two Miserable Deaths Confirmed by Rwenzori East Police.
A devastating week has beset the Kasese community in Uganda, with two separate incidents resulting in the loss of two lives.
In the first incident, Maate Emmanuel a 16-year-old four student at his Karambi Secondary School took own life, leaving behind a suicide note. "We are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the death," said Rwenzori East Police Spokesperson Nelson Tumushime.
The note alleged that he had impregnated a fellow student. The incident occurred on October 12th at approximately 0800hrs in Mirami Village in Karambi Sub County
In a separate incident, Mbusa Ernest a 30-year-old casual worker died suddenly after becoming unconscious at home it was believed that he had taken alcohol before his death.
Neighbors provided first aid, but his condition worsened, leading to his death. The incident occurred on October 11th in Saluti "B" cell, Nyamwamba Division, Kasese Municipality.
The Rwenzori East Police are investigating both incidents. "We urge anyone struggling with problems to reach out to trusted individuals or organizations for support," said Tumushime.
Nelson also noted that the number of suicide cases has increased, and called upon the public to share their problems with church leaders, councilors, or other trusted individuals for advice and support.
