OBR Unites for 58th Coronation and Kingdom Development : A Zoom Meeting to Remember!
The Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu (OBR) today 14 October 2024 held a historic Zoom meeting to discuss strategies for the upcoming 58th coronation anniversary and the development of the kingdom.
The meeting was coordinated by Kingdom Minister of Information, Communication and Mobilization Hon. Kanyonyi Godfrey and it brought together key stakeholders and participants from all walks of life, marking a major milestone in the kingdom's history.
"We need to promote tourism in our area and show the world the beauty of Rwenzururu Kingdom," said Benson Kule Baritazara, Deputy Prime Minister for OBR. "We must work together to make this happen."
And work together they did! The meeting saw participants from all walks of life come together to brainstorm ideas and solutions.
"Tourism should cater to all tribes in the kingdom, from dance to creativity," said Basimba Ronald Baluku, a participant. "We must use this coronation to welcome tourism in our area."
But that's not all. The meeting also covered the importance of having permanent secretaries to create jobs for young people and give ministers time to plan for the kingdom.
"We need full-time and paid workers for the kingdom," said Godfrey Kiwede. "And we must fund the human resource for OBR."
The meeting also saw a commitment to developing strategies to finance the OBR, including cultural tourism and production of cultural brands.
"We must develop saleable project proposals and partnerships with NGOs and CBOs," said Eric Bunnet Kitsa. "This will help us secure funding and cater for some officers in OBR."
And in a heartwarming display of support, the Red Cross pledged to provide first aid services at the coronation day.
"Let's build our kingdom by identifying capable people and organizing sermons for different genders to plan for the kingdom," said Culombus Ngelese.
This unprecedented collaboration is a testament to the power of unity and determination. As the kingdom moves forward, one thing is clear: the future is bright, and the possibilities are endless!"
