Exciting Start to Kasese District League Football Competition Featuring 11 Clubs
Kasese Junior Soccer Academy secured their first win in the District League Football Competition, defeating Soweto Kobs 3-2.
The match showcased the talent of young players, including Tawabu Jafali Masereka, who scored the winning goal for Kasese Junior SC. Masereka, a student at Saad Memorial Secondary School, has a proven track record, having been awarded top scorer in two previous tournaments: Eid Cup 2013 and Kanyangeya Premier League Cup.
Tonny Mumbere, a talented young player from Soweto Kobs SC and student at Kilembe Secondary School, scored a goal for his team. His former club, Kamaiba Soccer Academy, praised his talent and progress, stating: "We are proud of our former player Tonny Mumbere, who has been with us since 2020 and has now joined Soweto Kobs SC. His talent and hard work have paid off, and we are excited to see him shine in the District League."
Gonzaga Stephen, a sponsor of Kasese Junior Soccer Academy from Akiiki Holidays, congratulated the team on their win and encouraged the players to continue developing their talents to achieve more success.
The District League Football Competition features 11 teams, including new clubs that qualified for the league. Kasese Junior Soccer Academy's win is a promising start to their campaign, and their young players are ones to watch in the future.
