In a tragic incident, a man was reportedly killed by a security guard in Nyakiyumbu Sub County in Bukonzo West Kasese. The victim was accused of stealing bananas, and the situation escalated to a fatal encounter. Such violent confrontations highlight the urgent need for enhanced security measures and vigilance in the region.
Spokesperson SP Nelson Tumushime of the Rwenzori East Police has emphasized the importance of improving security deployments in response to the recent spate of theft incidents. "We have reported 18 cases of shop break-ins in Kasese Town alone last week, indicating a growing challenge for law enforcement agencies," said SP Nelson Tumushime.
