2025 Tusker Lite Rwenzori Marathon Announced! : Boost to Tourim and Investment

A major boost to Uganda's tourism and investment sectors is on the horizon as the highly-anticipated Tusker Lite Rwenzori Marathon returns for its 4th edition, promising to attract thousands of participants and spectators from around the world!

Kampala, Uganda - The organizers of the annual Tusker Lite Rwenzori Marathon have announced that the 2025 edition of the prestigious event will take place on August 23, 2025.

Early bird registration for the marathon will open on February 23, offering participants a chance to secure their spots at a discounted rate.

The Tusker Lite Rwenzori Marathon has become one of Uganda's most popular sporting events, attracting runners from across the country and beyond. This year's event promises to be an unforgettable experience, with participants set to take in the breathtaking scenery of the Rwenzori Mountains.


The 3rd edition of the Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon was successfully held on August 24, 2024, in Kasese District. Chelangat Abel and Emily Chebet were crowned male and female winners of the event.

In a significant development, the Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon organizers received certification from World Athletics in April 2024



Runners are encouraged to gather their crews and start training for the big day.

Kasese Mourns : Senior Four Candidate Dies at Bwera SS

The deceased is identified as Nabasire Sulaina Index Number U0436/200 has been studying at Bwera Secondary School.  She passed away suddenly last night. The student, had sat for two UNEB papers exams just yesterday, was rushed to Bwera Hospital after experiencing terminal agitation but unfortunately died upon arrival.
