KASESE ATHLETES RETURN HOME TO HERO'S WELCOME AFTER SUCCESSFUL PARTICIPATION AT GULU MARATHON

Kasese, Uganda - The team of five athletes from Kasese who participated in the Gulu Marathon has returned home to a warm welcome.

The team, comprising Otule Moses, Masika Eve, Mumbere Divid, Bwambale Xzeli, and Arinitwe Brain, was received by Rwenzori Region Athletes and Kithulha Care Initiative at Virina Gardens in Kasese Municipality.

Otule Moses won a bronze medal in the 10km category, while Masika Eve emerged fifth in the 42km category. The other team members also put in a commendable performance.

Speaking during the welcome ceremony, Dr. Otule Moses thanked God for the gift of life and protection, as well as Kithulha Care Initiative for their motivation.

Sunday Bakwe, the caretaker, expressed his happiness at the team's achievement, emphasizing that sports can be a viable career path.

Francis Mugisha, Patron of Kasese Sports Association and General Secretary of Rwenzori Region Athletes Association, thanked the team and announced plans to participate in international marathon events and hold mock runs in Kasese to select top runners.

The team's achievement has been hailed as a major boost to sports in Kasese, with hopes that it will inspire more young athletes to take up the sport.
