SOUTH RWENZORI DIOCESE CONGRATULATES RETIRED REV. CHARLES MBUSA UPON APPROVAL AS CHAIRPERSON PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION KASESE DISTRICT

The Kasese District Council has approved the appointment of Rev. Ven. (Rtd) Charles Mbusa as the new Chairperson of the District Public Service Commission.

The approval was made during a full council sitting at Kasese Youth Polytechnic in Nyamwamba Division of Kasese Municipality. The position fell vacant following the demise of Lawrence Tiruganya who breathed his last on November 24, this year.

"We are confident that Rev. Mbusa's experience and qualifications make him an ideal candidate for this position," said Mr. Girivazio Monday Bwambale, the District Vice Chairperson. "He meets the required qualifications under the Local Government Act Cap 243."

Hon. Nerveless Kikama, the Woman Councilor representing Rukoki and Mbunga sub-counties, supported the appointment, saying "Being a Church Minister, Ven. Mbusa would help in resolving some of the challenges related to corruption from the commission."

However, Mr. Ham Natuhwera, the District Councilor representing Nyakatonzi sub-county, criticized the District Executive Committee for not consulting ethnic minorities in Kasese before selecting Rev. Mbusa.

Rev. Mbusa's appointment is subject to approval by the Ministry of Public Service before he can assume office.

The deceased is identified as Nabasire Sulaina Index Number U0436/200 has been studying at Bwera Secondary School.  She passed away suddenly last night. The student, had sat for two UNEB papers exams just yesterday, was rushed to Bwera Hospital after experiencing terminal agitation but unfortunately died upon arrival.
