7 Girls Awarded Full Scholarships After Impressive Football Skills During NeFCoRD Tournament.

Kasese - Uganda, In a groundbreaking achievement, 7 talented young girls from Kamaiba Soccer Academy have been awarded 100% education sports scholarships by Fr. Kayonza Memorial School.

The scholarships were offered after the girls showcased their impressive football skills during the NeFCoRD Youth Football Tournament's 2nd edition in 2024.

"We are thrilled to identify and nurture young football talent, especially among girls," said Producer Joker, representative of Fr. Kayonza Memorial School. "Our director prioritizes promoting gender equality and education, and we believe these scholarships will empower the girls to achieve their dreams."

According to Producer Joker, the school's director is committed to supporting the girls, provided they remain dedicated to their education and sports career. "The director is ready to help them as long as they are committed to achieving their goals and career in sports," he said.

Mukwano Titus, Programs Coordinator at New Life Foundation for Community Rural Development (NeFCoRD), welcomed the partnership, saying, "We are delighted to partner with Fr. Kayonza Memorial School and provide opportunities for talented young players to pursue their education and sports careers."

Kamaiba Soccer Academy's President, Mr. Kaputhu Moses, also expressed his gratitude, stating, "This partnership is a significant step towards achieving our goal of promoting girls' education and empowerment through sports."

A meeting will be held with parents and players to discuss the scholarship details, school rules, and expectations. A contract will also be signed between parents, NeFCoRD, and the school to ensure a successful collaboration.
