SECURITY OPERATION LAUNCHED AGAINST NOTORIOUS GAZA GANG IN BUKONZO WEST : KASESE
A security operation has been launched against the notorious Gaza gang in Mpondwe Lhubiriha Town Council and Karambi Sub County, Bukonzo West, Kasese following a surge in armed theft cases.
Lt. Magwara Maate, Deputy RDC in charge of Bukonzo West, ordered the operation and urged locals to share information to help combat the gang's activities.

"We must work together to address this security threat," Lt. Magwara Maate said. "I call upon the community to share any information they may have about the Gaza gang."
Notably, the Gaza gang was previously known to operate in Kasese Town, where the RDC reported arresting many of its members during a festival day.
Kule Neriko, LC I Kathero, shared his personal experience of surviving an attack by suspected Gaza gang members. "I was attacked, but one of the gang members recognized me and spared my life," Neriko said.

Bwera Police Division Community Liaison Officer Kasango Swaib Ali emphasized the importance of parents taking responsibility for their children's upbringing. "Some parents have failed in their duties, leaving the responsibility to the government," Kasango said.
Kasango further encouraged parents to guide their children towards acquiring practical skills. "Let's impress our children to go for technical courses. This will empower them with the skills needed to succeed in today's fast-changing world."

Meanwhile, Paddy Muhindo, Chairperson LC III of Karambi Sub County, raised concerns about the rising cases of drug abuse in the area. "We need urgent attention and action to address this growing problem," Muhindo said.

The security meeting, held at Kathero Model Primary School, aimed to address the rising cases of theft and social issues in the area.
