OMUSINGA MUMBERE URGES MUSLIMS TO BE AGENTS OF PEACE AND UNITY : EID AL-FITR CELEBRATIONS
His Majesty Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere Irema-Ngoma, the King of Rwenzururu, has urged Muslims to continue promoting peace and harmony in their communities during Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
In his heartfelt Eid Mubarak message, the King commended the Muslim community for their discipline, sacrifice, and commitment to their faith during Ramadan.
Hundreds of Muslims gathered at Kisanga Mosque grounds in Kasese to mark the end of Ramadan, with Kithulha Mugisha Director of Kithulha Care Initiative joining the festivities.
The celebrations began with special Eid prayers, followed by a short sermon, and ended with the exchange of gifts and traditional sweets.
The King's message is part of his efforts to promote unity and harmony among his subjects, regardless of their religious affiliations.
The King has been a vocal advocate for peace and reconciliation in the region. In a recent speech, he rallied his subjects to abandon armed conflict and support peace efforts in the restive Rwenzori Sub-region .
