Rwenzori Lions FC Seeks Financial Support to Sustain Momentum

Kasese, Uganda - Rwenzori Lions Football Club, the reigning champions of the Kitara Regional League 2024/2025, is calling for financial support from the community and organizations to overcome the challenges hindering their progress.

Despite facing financial constraints, the club has demonstrated remarkable determination and hard work, achieving notable milestones such as qualifying for the prestigious Uganda Cup and winning the Kitara Regional League. On 22nd June 2025, they defeated Bunyaruguru United FC in playoffs with a single goal, hoping to have another win from them and secure a spot in the FUFA Big League.

According to Muhindo Amon, the Rwenzori Lions FC CEO, the club's financial challenges are limiting most of their activities. "We are facing challenges financially, which limits most of our activities. I call on individuals and organizations to come on board and support our club because it's uniting many youth who would be engaged in bad acts," he said.

The club's achievements are a testament to the team's dedication and hard work. In the 5th Edition of the C3 Football Tournament held in December 2024, Rwenzori Lions emerged as 2nd runners-up, receiving 500,000 UGX. They have also encouraged the public to support the team by paying for match tickets.

The Kitara Regional Football Association congratulated the team on their victory, with General Secretary Turyomuriwe Samuel noting, "Their victory marks a significant achievement, and we congratulate the team on their hard work and dedication."

Players appreciated fans for their support and motivation they present during time of competitive games. With the community's support, Rwenzori Lions FC can continue to thrive and promote sports development in Kasese and the Rwenzori Region.

Kasese Mourns : Senior Four Candidate Dies at Bwera SS

The deceased is identified as Nabasire Sulaina Index Number U0436/200 has been studying at Bwera Secondary School.  She passed away suddenly last night. The student, had sat for two UNEB papers exams just yesterday, was rushed to Bwera Hospital after experiencing terminal agitation but unfortunately died upon arrival.
