Kasese Hoteliers Gear Up for TuskerLite Rwenzori Marathon and Rwenzori Theluji Festival
The Kasese district local government has held a training workshop for hoteliers in Kasese town ahead of the TuskerLite Rwenzori Marathon on August 23rd, 2025, and the Rwenzori Theluji Festival happening in September.
At the workshop meeting held at the Rwenzori International Hotel, Kikusa Mustafa, Principal Assistant in the CAO's office, urged hoteliers to maintain modernized services for quick visitor experiences.
The Tourism Officer for Kasese district, Jovia Mbambu, appealed to hoteliers to make their facilities welcoming for both local and foreign visitors, noting that the tourism sector is bringing a lot of money into the area.
Recently, Amos Wakesa, team leader for the TuskerLite Rwenzori Marathon, revealed that about 24 countries have registered runners who will participate in the marathon in Uganda. Jovia emphasized that maintaining good customer service when addressing visitors will lead them to spend a lot of money in the region.
Deborah Baguma, Tourism Officer for Kabarole district, advised hoteliers to uphold best practices for hotel sustainability through professional decisions.
The General Secretary for Kasese Tourism Investors Forum, Mugisa Kihire William, said they formed the association mainly to boost tourism in Kasese and Uganda at large, inviting individuals and groups to join KTIF for promoting tourism.
One of the hoteliers who attended indicated that the training helped them acquire knowledge on competing with other hotels.
