According to a statement by the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority, the new rates aim to improve the overall passenger experience and upgrade facilities to meet growing demands. Short-stay parking rates will now range from UGX 5,000 to UGX 10,000 for the first hour, depending on the vehicle type, with an additional UGX 1,000 charged for each extra hour. Long-term parking rates will start at UGX 30,000 for the first day, UGX 10,000 for additional days, and UGX 200,000 per day after 30 days.
