District Council Member Cheated UGX 2.2 Million From a Voter in Kasese.

Mr. Robert Kisunzu, Male District Councilor Representing Bulembia Division in Kasese Municipality is accused of cheating UGX 2.2 Million from a voter after a promise of a government job.

During an interaction with our reporter on Thursday (29th August 2025) in Kasese Town, Jackson Masereka, Father to Ms Juliet Biira a Resident of Kandahi Cell in Hima town council, Kasese district, testify that Hon Robert Kisunzu in 2021 asked for UGX 2.2 million from her daughter in return of a job of Parish Chief which has ended in vain.

Mr. Jackson explain that he acquired UGX 2.2 million was loan from money lender at ten percent interest rate which has accumulated to 8.5 million. Mr. Jackson worry that his Piece of land may be taken by a money lender who is asking them to payback or surrender the land. 

"We have given Hon. Kisunzu 7 days to pay 8.5 million he took from us in pretence of giving my daughter job of a Parish Chief in 2021" Jackson explain 

Ms. Juliet didn't hide her tears as she explained to our reporter in a phone interview.  

"My father acquired a loan which is stressing us all as a family. We hoped to pay after having work but all seems to be nonsense because Hon. Kisunzu is a liar " Juliet cry

She reveal that Hon. Kisunzu also district Secretary for Works for Kasese District Local Government.

Winnie Bwambale, the Chairperson for Kasese Anti-corruption Crusade, that is aiming at fighting against the alleged vice of corruption in the District Service Commission and amongst Politicians.

 " I regret the act of corruption, im giving Hon Robert Kisunzu only 7 days to refunded the money"  Winnie direct 

By press when contacted,Hon Kisunzu told our reporter that he was in the field and promised to reach out to Ms Juliet.

Kasese Mourns : Senior Four Candidate Dies at Bwera SS

The deceased is identified as Nabasire Sulaina Index Number U0436/200 has been studying at Bwera Secondary School.  She passed away suddenly last night. The student, had sat for two UNEB papers exams just yesterday, was rushed to Bwera Hospital after experiencing terminal agitation but unfortunately died upon arrival.
