DESPITE MONKEY POX SCARE - KASESE DISTRICT SET TO HOST 2024 WORLD TOURISM DAY

"We are thrilled to host the 2024 World Tourism Day celebrations in Kasese District, despite the recent outbreak of Monkey pox disease," said Dr. Amon Bwambale, District Health Officer. "We have taken all necessary measures to ensure that the event is safe and successful."

The 2024 World Tourism Day celebrations are set to take place in Kasese District this Friday, September 27, at Nyakasanga Playground in Nyamwamba Division of Kasese Municipality. The event will be held under the theme "Tourism and Peace" and will showcase the tourism potential in the district.

"We are excited to showcase our district's tourism potential to the world," said Mr. Elias Byamungu, Kasese District Chief Administrative Officer. "We have a lot to offer, from our beautiful scenery to our rich cultural heritage."

The event will feature various activities, including traditional performances, exhibitions, and a tour of the district's tourist attractions. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is expected to officiate at the celebrations.

"We are confident that this event will promote tourism in our district and bring economic benefits to our people," said Ms. Joviah Mbambu, Kasese District Tourism Officer.

The district council has also resolved to launch an investment plan to enhance tourism and investments in the district.

"We are committed to making Kasese District a top tourist destination in the country," said Mr. Eliphazi Muhindi Bukombi, Kasese District Chairperson. "We invite everyone to come and experience the beauty of our district."

The event is expected to attract a large number of tourists and investors, and the district is gearing up to make it a success.

"We are ready to host the world and show them what we have to offer," said Dr. Bwambale. "We are confident that this event will be a success and will promote tourism in our district."

Despite the recent outbreak of Monkey pox disease in the district, the health department has assured that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure the safety of the attendees.

"We have managed to combat the spread of the disease through strict surveillance and sensitization," said Dr. Bwambale. "We are confident that the event will be safe and successful."
