JOINT FORCES SCORE BIG IN FIGHT AGAINST TERRORISM: ADF ON THE RUN
In a major boost to regional security, the joint forces of the Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF) and the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) have dealt a significant blow to the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) terrorist group.
The successful collaboration has led to the rescue of numerous civilians, the apprehension of key ADF commanders, and the disruption of the group's operations. "We are thrilled with the progress we've made so far," said Lt Gen Kayanja Muhanga, Commander Land Force."We're seeing significant gains in our fight against the ADF, and it's all thanks to our joint efforts."
Maj Gen Nyembo Abdallah, head of the FARDC delegation, echoed similar sentiments. "We are committed to continuing our cooperation to defeat the ADF. Together, we can bring peace and stability to our region."
The joint forces' successes include the rescue of 10 individuals, including 5 women and 5 children, from the ADF's clutches. Additionally, 23 individuals, including 13 minors, were rescued, and an ADF commander was apprehended.
"The ADF has been a thorn in our side for far too long," said Maj Gen Richard Otto, Commander of the UPDF Mountain Division and Operation Shujaa. "But with our combined efforts, we're confident that we can defeat them once and for all."
The joint forces' commitment to cooperation and their determination to combat terrorism have sent a strong message to the ADF: their days are numbered.
