HISTORIC ORDINATION CEREMONY ROCKS SOUTH RWENZORI DIOCESE

Kasese, Uganda - In a vibrant and spirit-filled ceremony, five Deacons were ordained as Priests, while three Ordinands were ordained as Rev. Deacons by the Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev. Nason Baluku, at St. Paul's Cathedral in Kasese town.

"We are thrilled to welcome these new leaders into the priesthood. They have been called to serve willingly, and we are confident that they will be a blessing to our diocese," said Bishop Baluku.

The newly ordained Priests include Rev. Simon Bwambale, Rev. Zadoki Mbusa, Rev. Elieziel Muhindo, Rev. Joseph Jamada Bwambale, and Rev. James Bamuhayira. Milton Magezi, Jerald Mutendaji, and Brian Nsubuga were ordained as Deacons.



"Being ordained as a Deacon is a great honor and responsibility. I am committed to serving God and the people of our diocese with humility and dedication," said Deacon Gerald Kule Mutendaji, one of the newly ordained Deacons.

The ceremony also saw 38 people commissioned as Lay readers, tasked with spreading the gospel of Christ to the community.

Rev. Can. Michael Kitooke, Principal Tutor at Bishop Balya Theological College, emphasized the importance of serving God regardless of one's background or position. "We are all called to serve God willingly, and it is our duty to spread the gospel to all nations," he said.

Mutendaji Pascal, father to Deacon Gerald, expressed gratitude to Christians for praying for the ordained priests, deacons, and lay readers.

Kasese Municipality Member of Parliament, Hon. Kambale Ferigo, congratulated the new leaders on completing their education and encouraged them to continue serving God faithfully. "God is always on the side of people serving him," he said.

The ceremony was attended by clergy, lay leaders, and community members, who gathered to celebrate the new leaders and their commitment to serving God and the community.
