KIBITO MARKET VENDORS FACE POST-CHRISTMAS DECLINE

The festive cheer of Christmas may be over, but for vendors at Kibito market in Bunyangabu District, the post-holiday decline is only just beginning. Vendors are struggling to attract customers, with sales noticeably lower compared to the festival season.

"Customers are still low compared to the festival season," said Amanyire Isah, a clothes vendor, urging people to support them.

Ngwasima Maximu from Kasunganyangya, who also sells clothes in the market, expressed concerns about the low sales, stating, "We are likely to get losses." He appealed to the government to "reduce taxes for the development of our businesses."

However, the chairperson of Bunyangabu market vendors, Mr. Sebuliba Luka, who sells shoes, remained optimistic, encouraging the business community to continue patronizing the market.

"Let's continue coming to the market; we are waiting the situation to be good," he said. He also advised people to "observe discipline when they are in the market."
