State Minister Hon. Kabbyanga Completes National ID Renewal Registration, Urges Others to Follow Suit

State Minister for ICT and National Guidance, Kabbyanga Godfrey Baluku, has completed the registration process for renewing his National Identification Card at Rusese in Bukonzo West Constituency, Kasese District.

Minister Kabbyanga urged all eligible Ugandans to follow suit, emphasizing that renewing one's National ID is crucial for accessing public services and strengthening national systems.

The Minister's action coincides with a nationwide mass enrollment and renewal exercise that began on May 27, 2025.

The initiative aims to register new applicants, issue new generation ID cards, and renew expired cards. This effort also supports Uganda's commitment to providing legal identity for all by 2030, in line with SDG Target 16.9.

Ugandans are encouraged to visit their nearest registration centers, particularly at the parish level, to obtain or renew their National IDs. This essential document facilitates identification and contributes to the country's economic development.
