Bukonzo West NRM Parliamentary Aspirants Outline Development Agendas at Joint Rally - Dr. Kiyonga Missed
In a significant political gathering, NRM contestants Hon. Kabbyanga Godfrey Baluku and Mr. Wangalima Milton addressed the public at a joint rally held at Kithoma market in Kithoma, Kanyatsi Town Council. Dr. Chrispus Kiyonga was notably absent, with no identified reason for his absence despite directives from NRM top leaders.
The event marked a crucial step in the lead-up to the general election, with both candidates outlining their visions for the constituency.
Hon. Kabbyanga Godfrey Baluku, Dr. Chrispus Kiyonga, and Mr. Wangalima Milton are competing in NRM party primaries where the winner will be the flag bearer in the upcoming general election for Bukonzo West - Kasese.
During the rally, Hon. Kabbyanga is currently the state Minister of ICT and National Guidance pledged to enhance the healthcare sector in Bukonzo West, with plans to lobby for the upgrading of Bwera Hospital. He also urged fellow candidates to maintain peace during the election and encouraged voters to do the same, promoting a harmonious electoral process.
Hon. Kabbyanga further challenged the public to take action against poverty in their families while leaders lobby for services, encouraging them to engage in animal rearing and entrepreneurship to increase household income.
Mr. Wangalima Milton, another NRM contestant for the Bukonzo West flag bearer position, pledged to improve the education sector and empower the youth if elected. He challenged his fellow contestants to give him a chance, and as a young man inspired by their vision, he believes he's the right candidate to bring about the change they've been calling for.
Venisio Brown, LC 1 Chairperson of Kithoma Central Cell, appealed to Hon. Kabbyanga to intervene and advocate for the full opening of the border to stimulate business growth in the area
Biira Magrette, an NRM supporter from Ihandiro Sub County, believes Hon. Kabbyanga is the capable candidate to compete in the general election and win the seat, which has been held by FDC for two terms.
Meanwhile, Joyline Kyamukagha calls for improvements in local health centers in Bukonzo West, emphasizing the need for accessible healthcare services for mothers and children who are disproportionately affected by the lack of nearby facilities.
