RWENZORI EAST REGIONAL POLICE ASSURE SAFETY AT KYAKERE CARNIVAL

The Rwenzori East Regional Police Spokesperson SP Nelson Tumusiime has  announced measures to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees at the upcoming Kyakere Carnival happening on 18th October 2025 at Rwenzori Square.

According to SP Nelson, officers will be deployed throughout the event area to maintain public safety, and CCTV cameras will be actively monitoring the premises from the Monitoring Centre.

In a press statement, SP Tumushime advised carnival-goers to follow all instructions from police and event organizers, keep valuables secure, and enjoy responsibly. He also provided an emergency contact number, 0800300106, for attendees to reach out in case of any issues during the event.

The police department urges all attendees to cooperate with security personnel to ensure a memorable and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu Responds to Petition from Three MPs Seeking Medical Support for Omusinga

The Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu has taken note of a circulating petition dated April 8, 2025, addressed to the President of Uganda, seeking urgent medical support for His Majesty Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere Irema-Ngoma. The petition, signed by Hon. Thembo Gideon Mujungu (MP Busongora County South), Hon. Sowedi Kitanywa (MP Busongora County North), and Hon. The deceased is identified as Nabasire Sulaina Index Number U0436/200 has been studying at Bwera Secondary School.  She passed away suddenly last night. The student, had sat for two UNEB papers exams just yesterday, was rushed to Bwera Hospital after experiencing terminal agitation but unfortunately died upon arrival.
