Rwenzururu Kingdom Mourns After Tragic Mzizi-Kyaterekere-Kagadi Incident

Geofrey Kanyonyi, Minister of Information, Mobilization, and Kingdom Spokesperson for the Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu (OBR), has released a statement condemning the horrific violence that unfolded in Mzizi-Kyaterekere-Kagadi on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. "The kingdom is profoundly saddened by the tragic loss of life and unequivocally condemns the cult-driven violence that occurred," Minister Kanyonyi stated. "We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and call on the government to expedite the investigation and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice." DEADLY CROCODILE ATTACKS IN KASESE: A CALL FOR CAUTION

Kasese, Uganda - Two devastating incidents have occurred in Kasese, resulting in the tragic loss of life and injury due to crocodile attacks. On October 30, 2024, 28-year-old Kule Felex Gaddafi, a resident of Tophil Cell, Tophil Ward Katwe Kabatoro Town Council, was killed by a crocodile while illegal fishing at Lake Edward. The Marine Police conducted a search and retrieval operation, and the body was handed over to the relatives for a decent burial. FATAL FIRE OUTBREAK IN KASESE: ONE DEAD, TWO INJURED

A devastating fire outbreak occurred in Kasese, Rwenzori East Region, in the early hours of October 29, 2024, leaving a trail of destruction and claiming the life of one person. Deceased  Musabaho Mugisha Adams According to police reports, the fire gutted a residential house in Kizungu Cell, Nyakasanga II Ward, Nyamwamba Division, Kasese Municipality, resulting in the death of Musabaho Mugisha Adams, 39. Two others, Masika Razia Amis, 53, and Kirabo Rayat Musoki, 9, suffered serious injuries and are receiving treatment. The fire, which started in the sitting room, spread quickly to the rest of the house, causing significant damage to properties, the value of which is yet to be estimated. Two Children Drown in River Sebwe : Kasese

A heartbreaking incident has left the community of Kasese reeling after two young children lost their lives in a devastating drowning tragedy in River Sebwe, Bughoye sub-county, Kasese District.  The district has witnessed numerous disasters since 2011, claiming over 60 lives, mostly children. This latest incident adds to the growing concern about water safety and the need for urgent action to prevent such tragedies. A surge in accidents on Kasese roads has led to a crackdown on reckless driving, with one driver, Mr. Abdulla Kule, being held by Territorial Police at Kasese CPS Rwenzori East for overloading his vehicle.
