OMUSINGA MUMBERE URGES MUSLIMS TO BE AGENTS OF PEACE AND UNITY : EID AL-FITR CELEBRATIONS

His Majesty Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere Irema-Ngoma, the King of Rwenzururu, has urged Muslims to continue promoting peace and harmony in their communities during Eid al-Fitr celebrations. Hundreds of Muslims gathered at Kisanga Mosque grounds in Kasese to mark the end of Ramadan, with Kithulha Mugisha Director of Kithulha Care Initiative joining the festivities.  The celebrations began with special Eid prayers, followed by a short sermon, and ended with the exchange of gifts and traditional sweets. Rwenzururu King Unveils Plan to Honor Kingdom Heroes

Kasese Town, Uganda - The Rwenzururu King, Omusinga Charles Wise, has announced plans to recognize and celebrate the kingdom's heroes who led the struggle for the kingdom's independence.  The king made the announcement at his residence in Kasese Town, shortly after a warm welcome from his subjects who gathered along the road from Rwimi to Kasese Town. King Mumbere Wisely Iremangoma, who has been away from the kingdom since November last year for official duties and medication, emphasized the importance of honoring his father, Isaya Mukirania, and other heroes like Kapolyo, Nyamustya, and Kawambala. He also thanked Hon. Florence Kabugho, the women's MP for Kasese District, for building a statue of the kingdom's first king, Isaya Mukirania, and urged relevant offices to display it at the Kasese Roundabout. SERIOUS ACCIDENT IN KASESE DISTRICT LEAVES THREE PUPILS INJURED

A tragic road collision occurred in Ndongo Village in Nyakiyumbu Sub County, Kasese District, on March 27, 2025, involving a Sino Truck that overturned and injured three male juveniles. The victims, aged 3 and 6, were taken to Bwera Hospital for treatment. Cutesy Photo According to reports from police the accident happened around 1:00 am when the truck, registration number UBP 057N, failed to negotiate a corner due to rain-slick road surfaces. The vehicle was carrying marram and ended up on a fence at Shalom Junior School. The injured juveniles, identified as Mumbere Brighton (6 years), Adrati Sixtusi (3 years), and Mumbere Edrick (3 years), are all residents of Nyakiyumbu One Village.
