The festive cheer of Christmas may be over, but for vendors at Kibito market in Bunyangabu District, the post-holiday decline is only just beginning. Vendors are struggling to attract customers, with sales noticeably lower compared to the festival season. Ssegirinya had been under their care, but unfortunately, he did not recover despite all efforts. The hospital extended its heartfelt condolences to the Parliament of Uganda, the Speaker, the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Members of Parliament, his family, and the people of Kawempe North Hon. Kampala, Uganda - Doctors attending to Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya, the Member of Parliament for Kawempe North, have confirmed that he is brain dead and most of his organs have shut down. According to National Unity Platform (NUP) President, Bobi Wine, Hon. Ssegirinya's mother had prematurely announced his passing, but the NUP leader urged calm and respect during this difficult time. "CLARIFICATION: According to the doctors, Hon. Ssegirinya MUHAMMAD is brain dead, most of his organs have shut down but he is not yet declared dead. When the mother was told that, she immediately announced his passing. Our teams are on ground monitoring the situation, as we all PRAY FOR A MIRACLE.," Bobi Wine stated. According to reports, Ssegirinya, had been battling health issues that worsened during his imprisonment. He had been in and out of the hospital, both within and outside Uganda, undergoing treatment. National Unity Platform (NUP) President, Bobi Wine, confirmed the sad news on social media, saying, "Very sad news this morning. Our brother, our friend, our fellow leader Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya has passed on. Such a dark morning. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un!" Ssegirinya was a vocal advocate for his constituents and a strong critic of the government. The smuggling of cocoa and coffee from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) has raised concerns among leaders in Bukonzo West, Kasese. A security operation has been launched against the notorious Gaza gang in Mpondwe Lhubiriha Town Council and Karambi Sub County, Bukonzo West, Kasese following a surge in armed theft cases. Lt. Magwara Maate, Deputy RDC in charge of Bukonzo West, ordered the operation and urged locals to share information to help combat the gang's activities.
